OUR MISSION
Springfield On The Move (SOM) is a non-profit that partners with business, citizens, property owners, and the town government to make Springfield’s downtown an attractive, desirable, and economically sustainable destination for residents and visitors. Our key partners include the Town of Springfield, Springfield Regional Chamber of Commerce, Springfield Regional Development Corporation, and residents who want to help revitalize Springfield’s downtown and the surrounding areas.
COMMUNITY
SOM emphasizes the importance of fostering strong, inclusive neighborhoods where residents feel connected and engaged. Initiatives under include focus on improving public spaces, enhancing recreational opportunities, and promoting social cohesion within the community.
ECONOMY
SOM centers on revitalizing Springfield’s economic landscape by supporting local businesses, attracting new industries, and creating job opportunities. We aim to offer entrepreneurship initiatives that empower residents and enhance the overall economic vitality of the downtown.
ENVIRONMENT
The environment of downtown Springfield plays a crucial role in shaping the community's identity and quality of life, aligning with Springfield On The Move's mission to foster vibrant and inclusive spaces. A welcoming and well-maintained downtown area enhances residents' sense of belonging and pride, encouraging social interactions and cultural exchanges.

Springfield On The Move is an accredited downtown program in Vermont that exemplifies the goals and principles of the Vermont Downtown Program. As an accredited program, Springfield On The Move has demonstrated a commitment to revitalizing and enhancing the downtown area of Springfield through a structured approach and adherence to specific criteria set by the Vermont Department of Housing and Community Development.
By achieving accreditation, Springfield On The Move not only gains recognition for its efforts but also access to resources and support from the Vermont Downtown Program, further enhancing its capacity to implement successful revitalization initiatives.
